Discount Dapper Tip of the Week: Easy Outfit Color Combos

I’m hoping today’s tip will help with a couple things: 1.) Making outfit selection easy, 2.) Making packing for travel efficient, and 3.) Giving some guidance into versatile colors to choose when purchasing clothes.

The guidance is solid and comes from Effortless Gent. Here are the three things to keep in mind:

  1. #menswearneutrals. Menswear neutrals are the KEY to outfits that ALWAYS “match” and never clash. Learn these, memorize them, use them. Watch the video above to see what I mean.

  2. Contrast is key. Light top, dark bottom, light shoes. Dark top, light bottom, dark shoes. You want a good amount of contrast among the three.

  3. Stay away from tonal outfits (all three pieces being the same color, or close in value).

  4. Avoid tops that are too close to your skin tone. It makes you appear pale and washed out.

Take a look at the photo below to get a feel how just a few neutrals can be mixed and matched for a ton of options! To go more in-depth take a look at the source article here

Make sure to focus on the colors rather than the article of clothing this will say true across garment types and formalities.

  1. Huckberry40% off annual winter sale [LINK]

    1. Jordan's Take: I know I put a couple Huckberry items in previous emails, but they have added a lot more items to this winter sale. For those of you not familiar, Huckberry is an outdoor-inspired men’s brand that sells higher quality apparel, gear and accessories. I love there vibe and if I wore their stuff exclusively, I feel like I would be required to carry an axe with me at all time, and accept any lumberjack type duties a passerby my ask me to assume.

    1. Jordan's Take: I’ve got two items for you here below, and I didn’t mean for this newsletter issue to become a manifesto in quilted tops…. but here we are I guess, so I hope you like them!

    1. Jordan's Take: Another smaller brand here; this time out of Louisiana. TBH I haven’t ever purchased anything from this site but I like their vibe, and the internet has some really good things to say about their normal selection and customer service.

      1. [Textured Knit Shirt]: [LINK] was $98 now $49

  • Patagonia: 52% off Men’s Baggies - 5” [LINK] was $65 now $31.99

    • Jordan's Take: I’m usually a 7” shorts kind of guy but when I’m trying to dump a bunch of heat while hiking I wouldn’t mind this fit. Do note that these have the liner in them so beware if you don’t like the liner

  • REI50% off KUHL Revolt Pants [LINKwas $119 now $58.83

    • Jordan's Take: Lots of sizes and colors available here. I haven’t had this pair of pants exactly, but all the Kuhl clothing I have had has been very solid and durable. This looks to be a great travel, hiking, outdoor pant.
